This morning I found a beautiful verse that speaks about the grace of God. it is really special because it is not written in the New Testament but rather in the book of 2 Samuel 14:14 which is in the Old Testament. It's special because it shows me that God had already planned for our salvation long long way before Jesus came to earth. The plan of salvation is a grand narrative of God's love and justice. So here is the verse :
"Like water spilled on the ground, which can not be recovered, so we must die.
But God doesn't take away life instead, he devises ways so that a banished person may not remain estranged to Him."
All the sins that we had done, there is no way that we can retrieve it. There is no way we can take it back as if those sins had never been committed. And the consequences of sin is clear. We must die.
In a way while sinning we have already experienced the death. By committing sin we can not come close to God. We can't be connected to God. To me this is death, life lived in sin is a lifeless life.
This matter became known to me after I became a believer of Christ. Once, I sinned on purpose. Right after, I asked for God's forgiveness, but somehow I can't pray. It was horrible. I felt disconnected with God for three days. Those days were meaningless and hollow. The severance of connection with God is the direct impact of sin.
It is only by the cleansing power of His blood shed on the cross that enabled us to come again to God. The blood gave us life, because through it, we can be resurrected from our spiritual deadness.
We are created to be forever in the loving everlasting fellowship with God. But instead we chose sin and live far away from God. and we are so depraved we can't come back to Him except through Christ.
Christ that I know is not just a great figure in religion and history. He's also a very personal God for me. It's wonderful to experience and savor the beauty of Christ. He's not just bearded guy in the pictures. He's living and working in our life and our self.
His love, you gotta experience for yourself. You can never imagined how beautiful and complete it is.
