feels like a chef :D

Today was just awesome!
After felt that I didn't do much yesterday, I decided to try new recipes. Funky food.
I  felt that I needed to contact an expert, in an instant one name popped into my head, Park Han Ju. She's a really good cook that can cook pretty much everything.

She gave me two easy recipes.
Grenoble fish with lemon sauce and Yangnyeom chicken.
Having imagined the taste of the dish all night I woke up with wonderful spirit in the morning. I couldn't wait to start cooking (as I'm writing this suddenly I feel hungry)
I felt like I was going to create something beautiful today.

I did.

For breakfast I chose Yangnyeom Chicken.
It's basically shallow fried chicken with sweet go chujang sauce. Just like the Bonchon chicken (now I know the secret!! MUAHAAHA).
So what I did first was of course defrosting the chicken. I put the chicken over the warm rice cooker.(didn't really work). I'm not the waiting type, so this smart lady decided to boil the chicken. Waiting the chicken to defrost would've taken HOURS. Plus I didn't have to fry the chicken for too long in the oil.
Next while waiting for the oil to heat, I prepared the chicken. I roll the chicken n spicy flour and pat it nicely.
I fried the chicken until it's golden and beautiful.
For the sauce I used go chu jang, ketchup, sugar and little bit of oil. Sauteing the sauce until it caramelize.
Lastly, I mixed the wonderful chicken with amazing sauce.
the result is MAGICAL.

I ate the Yangnyeom Chicken with mix rice and fresh lettuce - it's not fried rice ya.

Second meal : The Greenoble Fish.
To prepare this dish I actually had to go to the mall and buy fish and lemon. When I went to the mall, the street was a bit wet because of the rain. I think some of the dirt got on my leg. But that was worth it.

First, I soak the fish in milk, salt and pepper for 15 mins (just like what Han Ju said)
Then I bake potatoes with sugar and margarine. My oven is a bit problematic. The upper burner keep turning off. I had to check continually and turn it back on.
After being soaked the fish is rolled in the flour and fried. This time I don't use too much savory flour because the taste will be too much.
While waiting for the fish, I tried to make the sauce. I didn't have butter. I experimented with Crisco and water and it became fountain of hot oil and water ( the label said it would work). I added lemon zest and margarine to the mix and sugar too. But it was a failure. Another failure is that the potatoes weren't as sweet as expected. I guess I didn't put enough sugar on it.

To compensate for the lemon-butter sauce flour, I sliced a lemon and squeeze the juice over the fish. Yum.

Last creation ( I didn't plan this one)
is Banana pudding - Southern American style.
Making this is very easy I just mixed sugar, maizena, milk over low-med heat and keep stirring it until it thickens and add two beaten tempered egg yolk. Pour it over baking dish with cookies and banana. and wait for to harden a bit in the fridge.

This is the result

Thank God for all the passion, joy and good food. and thanks Han ju too
